1138 Motive GM Engine Pre-Lube Adapter – 3/8" NPT

1138 GM Engine Pre-Lube Adapter – 3/8" NPT

Protect a fresh GM build from dry-start damage with the Motive Products 1138 Pre-Lube Adapter. Thread this precision fitting into the factory 3/8" NPT oil-pressure sender port, snap the quick-connect to your Motive PowerFill tank hose, and pressurize the oil galleries before that first key-turn. A few pumps coats bearings, cam lobes, lifters, and turbo feed lines with clean break-in oil — no starter-motor cranking, no messy funnels.

Specifications & Features

  • Thread Size: 3/8" NPT male — fits most classic GM small-block (SBC), big-block (BBC), and LS-series engines that use a 3/8" NPT pressure-sender port
  • Quick-Connect Brass Coupler — attaches in seconds to any Motive PowerFill or Power Bleeder tank hose; swiveling design prevents hose twist during pressurization
  • Anodized Aluminum Body — lightweight, corrosion-resistant, safe with all synthetic and conventional engine oils
  • One-Person Operation — pressurize to 20–30 psi and monitor the gauge; fresh oil reaches rocker arms without a second pair of hands
  • Reusable Shop Tool — ideal for engine builders, machine shops, fleet garages, and DIY enthusiasts servicing classic or late-model GM powerplants

How to Use

  • Remove the factory sender or plug from the 3/8" NPT port
  • Thread in the 1138 adapter hand-tight plus 1/8 turn; do not overtighten
  • Attach Motive PowerFill hose to the quick-connect coupler
  • Fill tank with fresh break-in oil and pump to 20–30 psi
  • Maintain pressure until oil appears at rocker arms or tops of pushrods
  • Remove adapter, re-install the factory sender, and start the engine with confidence

Fitment Note

Verify your sender port is 3/8" NPT before ordering. For 1/4" NPT ports use Motive adapter #1188; for 1/8" NPT ports use #1144. All three sizes are available as a bundle in kit #1190.
